Luke Lawal Jr. is a visionary media entrepreneur, author, and community builder from Prince George’s County, Maryland. A proud graduate of Bowie State University, he is the founder and CEO of HBCU Buzz, the leading digital platform dedicated to celebrating Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Over the past decade, he has built HBCU Buzz into a disruptive brand and movement, shaping how HBCUs are represented across media, culture, and business. His influence and impact have earned national recognition, including a prestigious BET Award, and he is the author of Rich Black, Poor Black, a book that explores wealth, legacy, and the complexities of Black success in America.
Beyond media, Luke created Suited Lifestyle, a private membership network for Black men committed to excellence, legacy, and leadership. Through this initiative, he cultivates spaces for authentic brotherhood and accountability while equipping members with tools to thrive personally and professionally. His work also extends into speaking, thought leadership, and partnerships with global brands and cultural institutions, always rooted in his mission to connect community and elevate culture.
A proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and a Master Mason, Luke remains deeply committed to service, mentorship, and creating opportunities for the next generation. With an eye toward disruption and an unwavering belief in the power of HBCUs, he continues to build platforms that ensure Black stories are not just told but celebrated.
